The story is for Jamie Marina Lau’s “Gunk Baby”, a droll satirical novel involving a young woman who having remained obsessed with the euphoria she experienced from ear cleanings as a child, opts to open up an ear cleaning parlor at a nearby mall, inviting all manner of encounters with how her selfhood collides with capitalism alongside her constant preoccupation with earwax and the mysteries about what is building up within her.
